Flutter Art Exhibit in Boston!

Spread the love

An exhibit celebrating the award-winning, critically-acclaimed graphic novel series Flutter will be hosted by Aviary Gallery in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, from May 19-29, 2016. The exhibit will feature original art by Flutter illustrator Jeff McComsey and colorist Chris Goodwin. Also on display will be the step-by-step process that goes into making Flutter from Jennie Wood’s script to Jeff McClelland’s lettering.

Grub Street, Boston’s independent writing center, is sponsoring the exhibit. All exhibit attendees will have the opportunity to register to win a free writing seminar at Grub Street, which offers writing classes on a variety of topics, including the graphic novel, short fiction, memoir, and many more.

Multiple events are planned during the exhibit. On Thursday, May 19, an opening night party will be held from 6 – 9pm. On Saturday, May 21, a free making comics class for kids will be held from 1 – 2:30pm, taught by Jennie Wood and Chris Goodwin, an instructor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Finally, a mixer for comic creators and those curious about comics will be held on Thursday, May 26, from 7 – 9pm. Jennie Wood and fellow comic creators Kristi (Gamer Girl & Vixen) McDowell, Josh (Rapid City) Dahl, and Bob (Salvagers) Salley will host the event. Anyone interested in making comics is encouraged to attend the mixer. Comic creators will be present to share their experiences in Aviary’s relaxed setting.
